Comienzo este post sin tener el título en mente, aunque podría considerar «Crónica de una decepción: El apologista estadounidense David Armstrong», todo lector que haya recorrido un poco este blog de Biblia y Tradición sabrá que tengo varias traducciones de artículos del estadounidense David Armstrong, quien no es tradicionalista, pero a quien decidí incluir en mi página porque consideraba que hacía un buen trabajo de apologética, honrando la verdad, sobre todo en el campo de rebatir al protestantismo y sus sectas, sin embargo es un autor que nunca tocará temas como el Holocausto judío, visto desde un punto de vista crítico y serio, tampoco hablará del papel de la masonería en su eterna lucha contra la Iglesia, a pesar de que esto ha sido tema de muchos pontífices de la Iglesia; y aunque no conozco todo su material, tampoco lo he visto tocar el tema de las apariciones aprobadas de la Sma. Virgen María. Siempre supe que este personaje se quejaba de ataques por parte de supuestos seguidores de la FSSPX, lo cual él decía eran insultos y acusaciones de «modernismo» (algo que parece más acorde con los seguidores del sedevacantismo), no sé si en reacción a estos episodios es que de un tiempo a la fecha comenzó a publicar «análisis» muy viscerales respecto al tradicionalismo donde aludía a esto, y aprovechaba para hacer falsas acusaciones respecto a la FSSPX, diciendo que ésta es sedevacantista y algunas otras imprecisiones, las cuales le confronté por medio del Facebook (yo era su «amigo»), preguntándole en qué parte o en qué documentos de la FSSPX constaba esta posición, si él tenía la necesidad de mentir o si tenía miedo a publicar mis comentarios en su blog, el resultado es que don David, el «apologista», me ha borrado de su lista de amigos (¡vaya con las actitudes infantiles!, ¡córtalas, córtalas!), sin ninguna respuesta de por medio, supongo entonces que sus motivos no son precisamente honestos ni en honor a la verdad, en este tema. Dice así en su blog (Origins and Ongoing Evolution of the Term, Radtrad), entre muchas otras reiteraciones de esta mentira en otros post con el tema «tradicionalismo»:

RAD TRAD = Radical Traditionalist. Those that have joined groups like the SSPX that believe that [the] Church has gone astray since Vatican II and some believe that there is no current valid pope or that the pope is someone other that John Paul II. This is not to be confused with traditionalists like those who have a love for the Latin Mass and wish that it was made more available. The major difference is obedience to the Church.

Mi traducción:Citando la opinión de Jeff Miller del año 2004: RAD TRAD = Tradicionalista radical. Aquellos que se han unido a grupos como la FSSPX y creen que la Iglesia se ha hecho cenizas desde el Vaticano II y algunos creen que ya no hay un papa válido [¿quiénes lo dicen?] o que otro ocupa el lugar de Juan Pablo II [¿quién sería este «otro papa» y dónde se dijo o se escribió esto?]. No se debe confundir con quienes aman la Misa en latín y desean que ésta se haga más accesible. La principal diferencia es la obediencia a la Iglesia. [obediencia, pero no ciega]

¿Quien ha dicho esto en fuentes oficiales Sr. Armstrong? Ni siquiera el expulsado Mons. Williamson fue ni es sedevacantista. ¿Quién ha dicho que el papa no es papa o que otro ocupa su lugar? NADIE que importe su opinión. Ya lo comprendo, su post sólo es, al mejor estilo de periodismo barato y manipulador, una colección de citas y meras opiniones (manejando la opinión de sus lectores), pero no citando las fuentes de los personajes o sociedades aludidas, es decir, sus fuentes creen que eso es el tradicionalismo, pero no lo saben a ciencia cierta.

Respecto a mis comentarios censurados en su blog, le preguntaba ¿qué era lo que él consideraba como «antisemitismo radical» de parte de los «Radtrads» o tradicionalistas radicales?, en mi comentario le planteba que el Holocausto judío NO es un dogma de fe de la Iglesia y que es cuestionable y debatible siempre y cuando se haga seriamente y basado en argumentos históricos, no en películas de Hollywood ni en sentimentalismos, además le preguntaba, con ironía por supuesto, si deberíamos borrar los pasajes bíblicos donde claramente se establece la culpabilidad de los judíos en la muerte de N.S. Jesucristo y ésto en boca del mismo San Pedro (Hch. III,12-19), aunque era probable que debiéramos deshacernos de todo el Nuevo Testamento, pues Abraham Foxman, presidente de la Liga Antidifamación judía ha dicho que este Libro es «anti semita»; además, ¿deberíamos dejar de decirles que deben convertirse como el mismo Card. Kurt Koch lo ha dicho interpretando Nostra Aetate?, o si deberíamos comenzar a creer en las «vacas rojas», como los judíos establecen en un sitio dedicado a la reconstrucción del Tercer Templo, y donde afirman que «el destino del mundo depende por completo de las vacas rojas, ya que esto fue ordenado por Dios para que sólo sus cenizas, las cuales eran el ingrediente perdido, restituyeran la pureza bíblica e hicieran posible la posterior recontrucción del Tercer Templo«, es decir, le preguntaba si deberíamos dejar de creer en N.S. Jesucristo para comenzar a creer en «vacas rojas» mágicas, y además, le hacía la observación, que respecto a este tema había visto una actitud más valiente y cristiana en pastores evangélicos como G. Reckhart (de quien hace mucho traduje parcialmente un texto suyo denunciando esta blasfemia, idolatría y traición en supuestos cristianos, obviamente los prejuicios de este pastor contra la Iglesia salen sobrando), denunciando esta blasfemia y sinsentidos, que en supuestos apologistas católicos que se dedican a difamar a otros buenos católicos y a callar lo que pasa hoy en la Iglesia. Le hacía notar, además, que en el tradicionalismo serio, el tema del «racismo» ni siquiera se nombra cuando se trata el tema de los judíos y su perfidia. En resumen esto fue lo que no pudo contestar el Sr. Armstrong, irónicamente, esta situación personal refleja mucho la situación general: quienes se sienten en «perfecta comunión» con la iglesia están dispuestos a hablar con todos menos con quienes les representen objeciones reales a su conciencia, y no podría tener yo otra conclusión, pues mis comentarios, como se lo dije en Facebook, fueron expresados de forma correcta, sin insultos, planteando preguntas oportunas y datos específicos, y pidiendo explicación por los infundios contra la FSSPX (tristemente el Sr. Luis Eduardo López Padilla junto con Roberto O’Farril y Alberto Villasana expresaron en televisión comentarios muy parecidos contra la Fraternidad; a López Padilla le reclamé por Twitter y comentando en el Canal 40 de México, sin respuesta, es decir, el aventar la piedra y esconder la mano parece ser práctica común en supuestos católicos).

En pocas palabras, el Sr. David Armstrong, quien supuestamente es apologista católico y quien debería tener en gran estima la verdad, la honestidad y la valentía de enfrentar sus errores, miente descaradamente al afirmar (y apoyando las afirmaciones de otros) que la FSSPX es sedevacantista o que algunos creen que otro papa ocupa el lugar de quien está en Roma, y al no poder citar un sólo documento o declaración oficial donde esta asociación exprese tal posición, prefiere tomar una actitud infantil y esconderse. Por mi parte, he dejado de recomendar su blog en mi blog, ojalá que quien lo lea tenga suficiente criterio para diferenciar entre lo que es verdad y lo que es simple propaganda contra la FSSPX. He dejado disponibles mis traducciones de sus artículos porque en esos temas específicos no hay nada objetable, y personalmente deseo hacer honor a la verdad, dígala quien la diga, aunque en este caso la diga alguien que es falible, por supuesto como todos, pero que parece pretender que los católicos tradicionalistas somos tontos y nos tragamos cualquier cosa y que piense que puede esconder la verdad (y escondiéndose detrás de su pequeño pedestal de «gran apologista de internet»). Procedo además a enviarle una copia de este texto traducida al inglés, dejándole en claro que los verdaderos seguidores de la FSSPX no tenemos necesidad del insulto, como él se ha quejado tanto, y que la simple verdad es suficiente para ponerlo en su lugar, como un simple mentiroso. Gracias por su atención. Me olvidaba: esperaba más de Ud., Mr. Armstrong, ¡qué decepción!

 I begin this post without having the title in mind, but I might consider «Chronicle of a disappointment: The American apologist David Armstrong». Any reader who has read a bit this blog of Biblia y Tradición will know that I have several translations of articles from the American David Armstrong, who is not a traditionalist, but whose texts I decided to include in my page because I thought he was doing a good job of apologetics, honoring the truth, especially in the field of counter the Protestant movement and its sects. However he is an author who never touches issues as the Holocaust, viewed from a critical and serious standpoint; neither he has discussed the role of Freemasonry against the Church in its eternal struggle against Her, even though this has been the subject of many Popes of the Church. And although I haven’t read all his material, I’ve never read anything from his pen about the approved apparitions of the Virgin Mary. I always knew that this apologist have complained of attacks by alleged supporters of the SSPX, which he said were insults and accusations of «modernism». Maybe in reaction to these events is that for some time to date he began publishing very visceral «analysis» about the Traditionalism which alluded to this, and took the opportunity to make false accusations regarding the SSPX, saying that this Society is sedevacantist and some other inaccuracies, which I confronted through Facebook (I was his «friend»), asking him: What official opinion or what documents of SSPX is evidence or this alleged position?, also I asked him if he had the need to lie or if he was afraid to post my comments on his blog (wich was banned). The result is that Mr. David, the «apologist», remove me form his list of friends of Facebook (what a childish attitude!), without any further explanation. Then, I guess his motives were not honest nor he was interested in telling the truth in this matter. He affirm in his blog, among many other iterations of this lie in other post with the subject or tag «traditionalism»:

And I ask: Who said that Mr. Armstrong? Even the expelled Bishop Williamson was never a sedevacantist neither he is nowadays. Who said that the Pope is not Pope or another takes his place? No one has said that, at least, nobody whose opinion is worth. I get it, your post was at the best style of cheap journalism, citing mere opinions, but not citing real sources, i.e., your sources think that’s traditionalism, but do not know for sure.

Regarding my comments censored by you on your blog, I asked: What do you regard as «radical anti-Semitism» from the «Radtrads» or radical traditionalism? I said in my comment that the Jewish Holocaust is not a dogma of faith of the Church and that is debatable and questionable as long as this will be done seriously and based on historical arguments, not in Hollywood movies nor sentimentalism. And I asked too, sarcastically of course, if we should delete the biblical verses which clearly establishes the guilt of Jews in the death of Our Lord Jesus Christ, said trough the mouth of St. Peter (Acts III,12-19). Although it was likely that we should get rid of the entire New Testament, as Abraham Foxman, president of the Jewish Anti-Defamation League has said that it is «anti-Semitic». Aditionally, should we stop insisting in the convertion of the Jews, like the Cardinal Kurt Koch has said interpreting Nostra Aetate? Should we start believing in «sacred red cows» as Jews said in a web page dedicated to rebuilding the Third Temple?, and where also they state that «the fate of the world depends entirely on red heifer, as this was ordered by God, because only their ashes, which were the missing ingredient, will reinstate the biblical purity and made ​​possible the subsequent rebuilding the Third Temple«, i.e., I asked if we should stop believing in Our Lord Jesus Christ to start believing in «sacred red cows». And also I noted in my comment that on this issue I had seen more braveness and integrity of some Evangelical Christian pastors as G. Reckhart (whom a long time ago I partially translated one of his texts where he was denouncing this Jewish blasphemy and idolatry, and the betrayal of some called «Christians», obviously the pastor’s prejudices against the Catholic Church are unnecessary), in contrast to some alleged Catholic apologists that preffer to lie about others catholics than denounce the odd things within the Church. Moreover, I said in my comment, that in real Traditionalism, the issue of «racism» is never a factor appointing the subject of Jews and their spiritual perfidy. In short this is what Mr. Armstrong could not answer, ironically, this very personal situation reflects the general situation: those who feel in «perfect communion» with the Church are willing to talk to everyone except to those who represent them real objections to their conscience, and I have no other conclusion, because my comments, as I said on Facebook, were properly expressed without insults, raising timely questions based on specific data, asking for an explanation for Mr. Armstrong’s sistematic support to the fabrications against the SSPX.

In short, Mr. David Armstrong, who is supposedly a Catholic apologist and who should hold in high esteem the truth, honesty and the courage to face their own mistakes, on the contrary, he is lying blatantly saying (and supporting other person’s statements) that the SSPX is sedevacantist or that some of them believe that there is no Pope or the true Pope is different from the Pope of Rome, and he is unable to cite a single document or official statement where this Society expresses such a position, and he prefers to take a childish attitude and ignore the true data. For my part, I’ve stopped recommending his blog, I hope that everyone who reads it has sufficient criterion to distinguish between what is true and what is mere propaganda, a smear campaign against the SSPX. The translations of his articles will be available in my blog because in those specific subjects there is nothing objectionable, and personally I wish to honor the truth, no matter who said it, and no matter the author is fallible in other topics, of course, like all of us. It seems that Mr. Armstrong pretends to claim that traditional Catholics are fools and he wants to hide the truth, he also pretends to hide himself behind his little pedestal of «great internet apologist». No, Mr. Armstrong, true followers of the SSPX have no need of the recourse of insult, as you have complained so much, and the simple truth is enough to put yourself in your appropiate place: As a liar. I almost forgot: I expected more from you, Mr. Armstrong. What a disappointment!
